How to Stay Content

How to Stay Content

Remaining contented throughout your life is a big task but an important one. Contented people have fewer health issues, are more likely to enjoy life to its fullest and do not want for what they do not have. A contented person is not chasing after rainbows or trying to keep up with the Joneses; instead, a contented person knows that the source of contentment is deep within, trusting oneself and loving the life one has.
  1. 1
Be in harmony with those around you. If you are having difficulties in your relationships, it is important to sort these out quickly. Impoverished relationships are a key source of discontentment and if you have tried hard with some people and nothing improves, it is important to reassess whether or not you will continue to have that disruptive influence in your life. For those you love and care about, praise them, acknowledge them, and be more a part of their lives in each and every way daily. Revel in the beauty of loving and caring for people around you. Even those who cause you pain, forgive them as you move on from them, and let them be the way they are in the world without this causing you angst.
  2. 2
Stop seeking the riches and fortunes that you feel others have. Think about the realities involved; what a lot of other people have are debts and a need to be boastful through belongings. Eschew this path and avoid falling into the trap of wanting all the goodies others have. Having all that stuff will not make you happy.
  3. 3
Love your job. No matter how much you earn, no matter how much training in a specific field you have, no matter how much you think ought to follow the "right path", working in a job you hate will not bring you contentment. Even your perfect home life cannot overcome the daily grind of a much-detested job. The key is to accept that you might not be cut out for the career you chose for yourself. And to accept that happiness may just come with a much less well paid job that comes with greater fulfillment. Readjust your life's priorities.
  4. 4
Keep healthy with the little things. Floss your teeth daily, eat nutritious foods, exercise regularly, have a good laugh at least twice a week. These are simple things, said often and over and over again, but there is a reason for this–they work. Do them and contentment will follow.
  5. 5
Be a good neighbor. Get to know the people around you and be there for them as much as you can. Create community wherever you go and show trust to others. Reaching out to all is part of being contented within ourselves.
  6. 6
Trust and have faith. Learn to trust more and learn to have faith in both others and yourself. This may seem difficult at first in a world where you are taught to "trust nobody but yourself" but if you cannot even trust yourself, even that adage is twisted. Forget the negative connotations about trust. Be a pragmatic trust-warrior by accepting that there will be some people who will abuse that trust but for every abuser, it is likely there will be 9 people who reciprocate your trust, or who eventually come around because someone cared enough to trust them. Hang onto this belief doggedly and change the world's contentment as well as your own.
  7. 7
Be in the moment. Don't worry about the past and the future. contentment is reached when you make the most of the present as thinking of the past and the future will in the end just lead to disappointment.
  8. 8
Positive thinking. Changing your outlook to a positive outlook makes it much easier to be content.
  9. 9
Don't compare. Comparing your life against others or your past creates a lot of unhappiness, enjoy and make the most of what you have.
  10. 10
Meditate. That is sitting still for 20 minutes a day, which gives time for your worries to come up, but don't think about them just allow them to naturally pass until you achieve a calm mind. meditation is allowing your mind to become calm.
  11. 11
Ask questions. When you experience a thought nagging at the back of your mind, write it down as a question. This focuses your mind and helps you not become obsessed with your thoughts.Original article here

Happiness Quotes

The talent for being happy is appreciating and liking what you have, instead of what you don’t have.

Woody Allen

To the woman who complained that riches hadn’t made her happy, the Master said “You speak as if luxury and comfort were ingredients of happiness; whereas all you need to be really happy, my dear, is something to be enthusiastic about.

Anthony de Mello

It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.

Charles Spurgeon

The greater part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions, and not our circumstances.

A little story about a Mexican fisherman and the businessman

A Simple Life Well Lived

Dedicated to the little mancito from Michoacan.

In our human nature is a desire to achieve, to be successful. We all want success.

How do we measure success?

Can a person have too much success?

A little story about a Mexican fisherman illustrates success in a simple life well lived.

A Little Story

The businessman was at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. Inside the small boat were several large yellowfin tuna. The businessman complimented the Mexican on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took to catch them. The Mexican replied only a little while.

The businessman then asked why he didn't stay out longer and catch more fish? The Mexican said he had enough to support his family's immediate needs. The businessman then asked, but what do you do with the rest of your time? The Mexican fisherman said, "I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take a siesta with my wife, Maria, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my amigos; I have a full and busy life, señor."

The businessman scoffed, "I am a Harvard MBA and I could help you. You should spend more time fishing and with the proceeds buy a bigger boat. With the proceeds from the bigger boat you could buy several boats; eventually you would have a fleet of fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to a middleman, you would sell directly to the processor and eventually open your own cannery. You would control the product, processing and distribution. You would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Mexico City, then LA and eventually New York City where you would run your expanding enterprise."

The Mexican fisherman asked, "But señor, how long will this all take?" To which the businessman replied, "15-20 years." "But what then, señor?" The businessman laughed and said, "That's the best part! When the time is right you would announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich. You would make millions." "Millions, señor? Then what?" The businessman said, "Then you would retire. Move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take a siesta with your wife, stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip wine and play your guitar with your amigos."

The fisherman, still smiling, looked up and said, "Isn't that what I'm doing right now?"

Happy Journey, Happy Ending

You can never have a happy ending at the end of an unhappy journey; it just doesn't work out that way. The way you're feeling, along the way, is the way you're continuing to pre-pave your journey, and it's the way it's going to continue to turn out until you do something about the way you are feeling.

The Law of Attraction

Law of Attraction says, "That which is like unto itself is drawn." Vibrations are always matched. So, as you experience the contrast which inspires the new desire, this new desire, whether it is a strong one or a soft one, is summoning unto itself proportionately. And as it summons, it is always answered. It is the basis of our Universe: When it is asked, it is always given. Humans think they are asking with their words, or even with their action — and sometimes you are — but the Universe is not responding to your words or your action. The Universe is responding to your vibrational calling.

The Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction is responding to your thought, not to your current reality. When you change the thought, your reality must follow suit. If things are going well for you, then focusing upon what is happening now will cause the well-being to continue, but if there are things happening now that are not pleasing, you must find a way of taking your attention away from those unwanted things.

You have the ability to quickly change your patterns of thought, and eventually… your life experience.

Take 15 minutes daily, thinking of pleasant scenarios regarding your body, with the sole intent of enjoying your body and appreciating its strength and stamina and flexibility and beauty. When you visualize for the joy of visualizing rather than with the intention of correcting some deficiency, your thoughts are more pure and, therefore, more powerful. When you visualize to overcome something that is wrong, your thoughts are diluted with the "lackful" side of the equation. In time, your physical condition will acquiesce to your dominant thoughts.

Discover 8 Proven Ways to Manifest Money Fast

Original article found here:

There are a number of ways that you can manifest money fast into your life. The first thing you need to understand is that there is a reason why money is not coming into your life right now. You are doing some things that repel money. So you have to change this and start doing the things that will manifest money quick into your life.

#1 Be grateful for what you already have
I'm sure you have already heard this one. Be grateful for what you already have, not only money and you'll automatically attract more of it to yourself.

#2 Decide on a specific amount and timeframe
One of the principles of a successful manifestation is that you be clear on what exactly it is you want. In this instance you want to manifest money fast, so decide exactly how much you want, and when you want it. Write it down on a piece of paper and put the paper where you can see it.

Read what you wrote on the paper out aloud every morning and night at least 3 times.

The way that you write it should be in the present moment. For example if the amount you want is $10 000 and you want it by the end of the month, you should say "I have $10 000 in my bank account by month end."

Don't be over ambitious with the amount you pick. This is because your mind may have difficulty believing you if the amount is too big. So rather pick an amount that you are comfortable with, even if it is not the exact amount you need. You need your mind to support you, not sabotage you.

#3 Visualize money coming into your life
Once you have become clear on what you want and when exactly you want it, start seeing it clearly in your mind's eye. Not only see it but feel it.

      Ask yourself this magic question.

"What if, I already had this amount of money? How would I feel?" and FEEL IT!

"What if, I already had this amount of money? Where would I be, and what would I be doing?" and SEE YOURSELF DOING THAT THING with whoever and wherever it may be!

      #4 Be Joyful
Be joyful where you are. Having fun is a sure way to manifest money quick. When you are having fun, you forget about the fact that you "urgently need money" and before you know it, the money will be there or you'll manifest an opportunity that will lead you to the money. Either way, it is important to have fun.

#5 Pay your bills with pleasure
Most people who want to manifest money fast have huge bills and no money. Whenever they think of the bills they cringe. Just the thought of having to use the last money on bills makes people depressed. This is something you definitely want to change if you want to manifest money quick.

      #6 Give money away
In order to attract anything you want, you have to first give it away. Remember the law of giving and receiving? But how can you give money away if you don't have any? A good way to do this is with million dollar bills. These bills can be bought all over the Internet, including on Ebay. They have a great energy to them and will help you manifest money fast.

      #7 Help others
If you don't have a dime to your name, there is still something you can do. You can offer your knowledge and your time to help out others who may need it. You never know who you may be helping and where that may lead to.

      #8 Take inspired action
Become aware of the prompting from your subconscious and follow whatever suggestions you receive. Your subconscious is connected to all knowledge and by following it's suggestions you are sure to hit the bulls' eye.

Quote of the Day

I was reading the blog of Marc & Angel Hack Life and loved quote # 47:

47. Money is a renewable resource. If you lose some money, don’t sweat it. You can always make more. However, if you spend valuable time stressing over money, or lost opportunity, you’ll never get that time back. Time is more valuable than money – time is the greatest constituent of life.
